Tuesday, 20 March 2018, Kuching: The Valuation and Property Services Department paid a visit to LBU this morning to know more about the Pan Borneo Highway Sarawak project.
Led by its Deputy Director-General Dr Zailan Mohd Isa (Operations) and Dato Zaleha Baharum (Strategic Policies), the delegates were welcomed by LBU’s Head of Corporate Communications, Nor Zalida Ahmad.
The delegates were briefed by Zalida on the background of the mega-project and its implementation.
Head of Digital Information Technology Muhammad Faris Shaukhi joined to the visitors to brief on Highway Information Modelling (HIM) and Integrated Project Management System (IPMS), and how construction information - from design and planning stage to construction and later operation and maintenance, are captured in IPMS, with information available for sharing with relevant parties.
After the briefing, the delegates were given a tour to see the 56 Highway Information Modellers in action.
They were in awe to see how these IT savvy fresh graduates convert the conventional 2D engineering paper drawing to 3D virtual drawing on the desktop.
Valuation and Property Services Department which is under the Finance Ministry serves as an advisor to the government and its agencies on all matters relating to property such as valuation, consultancy and property services.
It also among others acts as a consultant to the government and its agencies in providing property consultancy services with regard to feasibility studies, property management and estate agency.
