Aye to LBU head office’s OSHA practiceLatest

Tuesday, 13 March 2018, Kuching: The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) is satisfied with the overall compliance of occupational safety and health features at LBU head office here.

A half yearly audit inspection was carried out by the Department yesterday to ensure the occupational safety and health management system is adhered to at the head office workplace at Gateway Kuching.

There were a few observations made by the Department during the inspection which required improvements. For LBU HSE Officer, Abdul Rahman Kadir, he described these as “not a major issue”.

“These included things like boxes placed on the floor should not obstruct the walkway and fire extinguishers have to mounted to the wall.

“We have immediately responded the issues raised and rectified it,” said Rahman.

He said it was important for the workplace to observe the occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) as safety of the employees should not be taken for granted.

“A safe working environment is essential for every employee and it should not be compromised at all.

“At LBU, we are consistently making sure all the OSHA that is put in place is fully adhered to.

“It is our top priority to ensure everyone feels safe while working here,” he added
