Thursday, 9 August 2017, Kuching: A series of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) training sessions with a focus on scheduled waste management and the accident investigation process is being conducted for our WPCs. The first of three training sessions kicked-off in the Northern Region involving the site teams from WPC 09, 10 and 11.
The two-day training on 8-9 August was conducted by Chemsain Konsultant Sdn Bhd. It was held at WPC 09 Site Office. In attendance were Project and Construction managers, Health, Safety and Environmental officers, as well as site safety supervisors.
Topics discussed included handling of scheduled waste, and legislation and policies governing it. Participants were also briefed on requirements of inspection and reporting systems.
Also covered were the roles and responsibilities of the Safety and Health Committee in managing and investigating accidents.
The second training session will be held in Sibu on 17-18 August involving WPC 06, 07 and 08 from Central Region. The final and third session will be held in Kuching one week later for the remaining WPCs of Southern Region.
The HSE training is part of LBU’s on-going programmes to protect the safety and health of the workers and public, as well as to minimize the negative effect of construction activities on the environment.
